I love this scene so much because Gabriel is so flipping powerful, he totally could have stopped them from telling the pagans or even made them forget who he really is SO EASILY. but he didn’t, because he’s letting them believe they have an edge over him, he’s letting them believe he has no choice but to help– because he doesn’t want them to know he cares. Gabriel cares but he doesn’t want to say it. And that subtle glance at Sam before he agrees…. I think Sam knows it too.
