My entry for the Cap/Iron Man Big Bang 2016, based on Fluffypanda’ fic, Like A Second Heart.
(still in draft mode, will publish soon!)
Summary:
Set a few months after CA:WS. Steve’s POV. “Until he had all of Tony’s memories, fears, and hang-ups from the past eight years dropped into his head, Steve would have said Tony was fearless. Now he knew he was wrong.” When Tony wakes up after team rescues him from AIM, he doesn’t remember being Iron Man. While hunting down the villain responsible in Italy, Steve figures out that the missing chunk of memories was accidentally transferred to him during the rescue. Steve works with the team to fix it, but it becomes a struggle when the memories threaten to overwhelm him. In the process both Steve and Tony grow to understand each other better.
Also featuring: Steve reconnecting with art, the hug-n-fly, team spirit, reminiscing about the past, lots of symbolism (with phoenixes, lions, and flowers), and more food than I intended.
